Tango!!!!

Little Tango is home. :-) She's still on antibiotics etc, and she's scouring a bit still but she should be fine. Pics below for anyone who would like a look. Taken this morning. She's about 2-3 days old. And utterly ADORABLE. Nutmeg is still a bit wary of ppl getting too close so these were all taken with signifcant zoom.

Hello! I'm Tango!!!!

How cute IS she?!?!?!?!

Poor little baby has had a hard start in life, on 3 drips at once. She's much more energetic now  tho

 mmmmmm, milk bar!

I can't believe this shot worked out as well as it did. Yay awesome camera!

I can't get over her tail and mane, soooo cute!

awwwwww......

All together now... AWWWWWWWWWW......

So she's still working on the balance issue :-D

Going for a walk with mummy

Nutmeg has blue eyes which I looooove, I don't think Tango does tho. Neither do her other two daughters who live at my paddock. The stallion is a bit of a narky bay thing, I'll get photos eventually.

Ever watchful mum :-)

she falls asleep every few minutes :-)

Yeah as you can see she did scour pretty badly, but it's much, much better now

Yes, one day you too will fly like a plover, Tango :-))

Hey, I went down to the paddock last night and Jill's car was down there so I thought, stuff it, I'm going for a sticky beak. Jill saw me walking up the hill and waved so I went and had a chat and she took me over to see Tango. Tango's registered name is going to be The Duke's Tango. Ted has Duke in his registered name so Jill wanted to keep that part. When we went into the paddock Tango was laying down sound asleep so Jill woke her up and made her get up. She is so adorable. We just drooled over her for ages. Jill wanted a filly and she wanted a coloured one so she was rapt. Tango stuck with Nutmeg for a bit and had a feed, then I think she got a bit curious. Jill and I were bobbed down and Tango stood there and looked at us curiously. Then all of a sudden she took about two steps towards us and just stopped. Thats as far as I thought she would go. I didnt think she would want to get too far away from Nutmeg but all of a sudden she just walked straight up to me. She started nuzzling my fingers and the next thing one of my fingers was in her mouth. The she got even closer and started gumming at my hair and really started checking me out. She was sort of all over me and thats when Nutty came and cracked it and pulled her into line. She is so adorable. Apparently Nut lost her colostrum because she was leaking milk. Apparently the vet clinic stuffed up big time because Gary's wife stuck her beak in and told her not to worry that Tango didnt get any colostrum. Thats when she started going downhill and then they actually got one of the vets out who made them go to the clinic straight away. Apparently Nutty went nuts when they were at the clinic and they moved Tango into the next room to treat her. So anyway, Jill's vet bill is about half of what it should be because of the stuff up. So now Tango stands the same chance of survival of any foal her age (a whole three days old today). Jill said that we are welcome to go up any time we want and play with Tango. She was even showing me how to turn off the electric fence so I think she is expecting the two of us to be up there lots. She is such a lovely lady and she really wants to see the photos you took. So cute!

awwwww! Looks like she will have the same people-friendly personality as her sisters. She took a few steps towards me but Nutmeg was really uptight about it so she didn't let her get any closer. I was happy enough when she let me get a few feet away after sitting there for ages. She's a good mumma. I hate ppl who stuff their noses in when they have no idea and cause animals undue suffering, what a stupid thing to say, a foal not needing colostrum! Jesus. ROFLMAO! I think Jill knows there is no way we could stay away without causing ourselves quite a lot of anguish, I don't care if Nutmeg is stand-offish, I like her and am slowly winning her over with a piece of carrot or apple every time I went through her paddock. I'm sure once she settles down with her baby I can resume the bribary. ;-) I've made this entry public and am emailing Jill the link. Plus I'm upload the rest that I didn't put on here to the Photobucket account and send her the link, that's just very very very time consuming so will be a bit later. :P
