Planking...

has got to be THE stupidest thing I have ever seen in my life. I dispair for the human race. We get dumber and dumber every single freaking year.

On a GOOD note: I got my HTC Desire back!!!!! It survived the dunking in the machine! The service guy had to take the battery apart and do some serious cleaning out of the just starting to rust bits but everything seems fine. I now have a water mark on the screen but you can barely see it unless the screen goes white for an app, and even then you need to have it on the right angle. It seems to be alright. Thank freaking GOD! I haven't minded having the Wildfire, but the Desire is just SO much better :)

Have been having a LOT of trouble trying to find something good to read. The market seems flooded with a lot of crap at the moment. I INHALED Picoult's last offering. ABSORBED the last Immortal Instruments novel. And TRYING to drag out The Inheritance by Hobb as much as I can. Did a book-club search last night and found a fantasy author which people seem to approve of, called L.E Modesitt Jr. He's written a booger load of books, which is generally a pretty good indication of a good writer. I got the first Sage of Recluse novel, let's see how it goes. I have Water for Elephants on HOLD at the library, but of course everyone wants to read it at the moment so who knows how long I'll be waiting :P

Day 3 today. School after work. Darren has been sick so I have been working one-up all week, and I am exhausted beyond telling. Plan for the weekend is a long, lazy lay in with what is hopefully a good book!!! Although I need to do the final edit on my Air Wing assignment, and also my mediation assignment, so will set aside a few hours for that. Joy.

Action plan for work on assignment tonight

Since I can't email from TAFE to work/home :P

http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&source=hp&biw=1420&bih=742&q=GAP+analysis+template

This is a good one as there is an ACADEMIC aspect to it, you can reference it and do a little research on it.

use the 6th one down tonight to do the GAP for the project.
You also need to do your strategic plan and review it based on GAP CREATE A NEW DIRECTION i.e rural vic coverage, closer work with Flying Drs and rural MAS (research) and rural hospitals and police stations
Also do a risk assessment, a small one, incorporate it to GAP
Add the skills on to the people that you want to move up, eg. the pilot you want to move into a more Team Leader role eg. training courses; professional development
GAP: no skills missing in existing staff, just the new. What do they need? How will you gain them the skills? What and WHOM do you need to fill the GAP? In what time frame? USE that template!!!!! (trainers, training timetables and someone to develop them, what time will it take etc, IT'S IN THE TEMPLATE!!!!! USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
FILLING THE GAP:
Training and Development
Courses
Coaching and mentoring
Shadowing
Transfers (from the pool to the hanger)
Covering for the trainers when they are away eg. the head pilot while he trains the new ones?
Special Contracts

Write your old strategic plan
Now write a new one with the change in mind (remember it is GOAL orientated, in the HR section ONLY i.e recruitment, training)

USE the Databases section on TAFEVC, esp Emerald

School is killing me

Dear LJ,
I thought you might like to know: I FARKING HATE CREATING SURVEYS! Yes, I know how to make them look nice. Yes, I know how to put in both open and closed questions. Yes I have a lovely little format all picked out and in place.
BUT I STILL HATE IT.
Thank you for your attentions.
- Maggie

Plan for tonight:
Get the intro done for part one.
Think up Questions for part one.
Format layout for survey.
Fill in 10 dummy copies for the stupid assignment.
Get the reading done for part 2.
Begin to identify initial trends.

*sigh*

One step forward

I awoke early today and went to Holmsglen to do my enrollment :) I am officially a STUDENT again :D Got my student ID, paid my fee's, all ready to go. *gulp* Al went with me and it all went fairly smoothly. Got one heart attack when the admin lady said I'd have to pay up front fees in total. I'm like WHAT??? The whole few grand???? I'm going for VET FEE HELP!!!! She's like oh! Oh sorry, I thought you were being sponsored by your employer. Faaaark out :D Don't get my bopok list t il first day of classes. Have decided to go with my original idea to do two subject per term rather than the one per term. With my RDO's and my night shifts, I shoud have plenty of time to study. Oh boy oh boy oh boy, a student again, I am :D
