LOL! I think they're called horses for the reason Arabs are called horses even if they're under 14.2 hands. They can carry the weight of a full grown man and used to cart Vikings around.

It'a anatomical :) Their proportions are horse proportions and their ability to carry weight compared to body size is horse. Same as miniature horses. :)

*has now looked at a very Icy piccies* They still look like cute fluffy ponies to me :) Although I would KILL for the op to actually ride one, they look so hella fun. I like being a short-ass; can ride the little horses without feeling like a flea sitting on a grapefruit :P I must be getting old, I'm liking them shorter and shorter.
