Didn't have much of a chance to post yesterday, so here we go:
We didn't do much. Al and I drove up to Cairns (it's about 45mins drive or so) where we did some shopping. I had forgotten my bathers and trackies back home, and Al had no swimmer trunks at all, so we found those plus I got myself some grey trackie pants and this beautiful pair of black cargo pants with an awesome belt. Had lunch at Sushi Train and then headed for home. Stopped at the Pyramid and walked up the track a tiny little bit. Had a pretty quiet evening, Al and I played with some gorgeous shells I found the other day and took some pretty photos. I had this image if having the shells cradled in my palms and have it all lit up, we took that but it didn't work out how I envisioned so we tried the second idea I had and um.... yeah I think it turned out. Under the cut are some pretty shots, the one that I am most proud of needs a bit more PS work to bring out the full effect so I'll pop it up in a sep entry a bit later.
MELBOURNE CUP DAY!!!!!!!! We're off to the local I think I have lunch and celebrate the running. My sentimental fav's are Daffodil (just because she is a mare and she was nosing at the camera and looked sweet) and Alcopop (because he's a working stock horse on top of being a top racer), but I think Viewed is going to be the one to beat.

rasta fern :-)

Our noble steed waiting for us in the Pyramid carpark. That's a fallow sugar cane field behind it

The Pyramid. They run a race up it every year, on average it takes a hiker about 8 hours to do the round trip. It's a VERY difficult climb.

Close up of the shells I found. I don't know what type they are, will get dad to check for me when I get home; he's good at that type of thing.

I'm considering entering this one in Canon's Almost Black competition, what do you guys think?

On the blue and white tablecloth here, kinda pretty I thought :-)
