Michalow Part 5
Jul. 11th, 2006 04:49 pmEvery day the 400+ horses are let out and then brought back in. It would take a loooooong time to lead them out one by one, so they let them out barn by barn. Into a holding yard and then WHOOOOSH! They are sent up a mile long tree lined incredible alley way! A groom waits with a gate open to the paddock they want that barn-load to go into, and the horses flow in and go nuts. In the evening it's the other way around. The horses all wait at the gate and come BOLTING back down, knowing there is food in their stables. It's something every horse lover should see. The noise, the sight, wow....

Jul. 11th, 2006 04:22 pmWhile we were there, the horses that were for sale were being displayed for some French buyers. I was invited to watch as by now the lady Director realised I was a true horse lover and would not in any way interfere. The grooms only wear the uniform for special occasions like these presentations. i was extremely fortunate to be there at the right time and will be always grateful for the hospitality and trust they showed me by allowing me free rein of the stud.

Michalow Part Two, MY mare!
Jul. 11th, 2006 04:16 pmOk ok so she'snot really mine. But this mare was all anxious and stampy so i walked up to her and gave her love and she full on leaned on me, whuffling my hair, nickering sweet nothing in my ear. The groom came running and was amazed at what he saw. He asked if I was there to buy a horse and I said no just a tourist and he said pity because this filly never cuddles to anyone, is usually very stand-off0ish until she gets to know you. When I walked away she neighed like mad for me. Later I got to see her displayed. She's for sale. I could never afford her. I hope she goes to a home where they love her. She's my idea Arabian, perfect in every way. *sigh*
