Phew! So glad that you are off the NW Rollercoaster. I'd be tempted to not return the polo shirts and take them to FWA for withholding your pay illegally (pretty sure they can't withhold your pay, although I'm sure they could deduct shirt costs). But I don't think it's worth it.
