My Guilty Little Secret, and something I think a few ppl on here can identify with

I promise there will be random Thailand photos at some stage very soon. In the mean time I need to admit something. I need to clear the air. It's taken me a few weeks to come to terms with this, so please don't judge too harshly...I....I'm a My Little Pony Friendship is Magic fan. There. I said it. I like this cartoon and I like the stories and I like the animation style. I am also mildly alarmed and amused that the cartoon ponies I have been drawing in my exercise books etc for years look a hell of a lot like the new MLP's. What the HELL? When I get home and have access to HB pencils and an eraser, I will be teaching myself how to draw them. I think my two fav ponies are Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. I know it's been around, what, 3 years or so? But I never watched it until the flight over here. The movies were boring, they had an episode available to watch so It ought ah what the hell. Now I really, really like it :)

How freaking depressing is THIS?!?!?!? Anyone else suffer this?
Anyway, I was feeling silly yesterday and created my own pony. I personally think she's kind of cute.


I can see the legs are going to be the hardest to draw, I always have issues with getting the level of cute-chunky right. Will have to experiment a little bit with guide-line points and joint references. I have to say I def prefer the new animation style to the old one, this one is going to be a lot easier to draw. I can draw the old style but it's very limiting.

Anyway, now you know my filthy, dirty, nasty little secret :) And hey I saw this, sums me up pretty well, and made me think of a couple of you.

I have to admit that I too share your affliction.
I have all songs from the series. On my phone. They get played in the car. Not only do I have the affliction but I have also passed it onto James, who has now started finding techno remixes of his favourite songs, some of which are very good. I think we have to face it. We are now living in a brave new world where grown adults watch and enjoy insanely cute, girly, childish little ponies. I for one, welcome our new adorable overponies :P

This is awesome!! I LOVED MLP as a kid, but haven't watched it since. Actually, didn't realize they still had a show. Need to check it out. And I have things like this that are kind of goofy at my age, like my love for little kid movies and my stuffed penguin. :)

I like the artwork and design of the show, but find the actual show itself (the writing and animation) is just meh... I mean, the animation is serviceable and all, and designed so they can get it done on a series schedule no doubt, but I think it could us a few more frames here and there... I'm a huge fan of snappy animation, but MLP is more poppy than snappy - hence the add-a-few-more-frames (and some more anticipating and overlap while you're at it)request. I'm an animator, so I'm picky like that.

I've actually been meaning to make an avatar using her image. Maybe the next time I'm fucking around with Photoshop just for fun, I'll do that.

Um, have you seen the photos of my Pinkie Pie wig yet? And I'm 26. I have Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie (all are Best Pony) on my bedside table ... and a box full of the tiny blind-bag Ponies, which is my happy box. It makes me happy to open it and see all my Ponies. Oh, and I have a massive cuddly Dash who lives on my windowsill and stares ominously at the neighbours.

So absolutely no judging here! Embrace it! I'm so proud. <3
