I went beach combing

Did you SEA what I did there?
Seriously tho, the amount of rubbish on that beach is distressing. I'm going to start taking a plastic bag down from now on and pick it up; my pockets can't hold all that much.

I took the girls to the beach on Friday morning (RDO 1). Parked at Seaford Pier again.

They seemed to enjoy it

I am seriously considering printing this one out for my wall. Stunned at the colours on the pier.

Trying to expose for a black dog and a white-gold dog; an exercise in heartbreak :D

Zombie Hari will eat Lucy's braaaaainsssss! Zombie Hari will be sure to starve...

I quite like seagulls

What I find interesting is that this photo was taken roughly 30mins after that pier shot above, yet none of the colours are really showing through. Mind you it was taken on the other side.

I FOUND A STICK!

SUPER DOG!

Some of the colours came up when I hobbled back to this angle

Go, Hari! GO!!!!

AIR!

We had high winds and stormy seas so the beach was covered in a lot of seaweed. Hopefully it rots away quickly. Looks pretty blergh.
After that, I rushed them off to the vet for Lucy's annual vaccination pus heartworm shot. The vet LOOOOOOVES our dogs, says they are not fat, they are trained, not bitey. Which is apparenty more than can be said for some of their patients. While we were there some stupid old bitch had a corgi which was very clearly not trained at all, and who tried to snap at Lucy. The stupid hag thought it was funny and kept edging closer until I told her "take your nasty piece of shit dog away from my dog or you will be paying for the vet bill". What the hell is it with old women and small dogs?
This morning Craig took off for his long run, I had a small sleep-in (til 6:30! That's huge for me!!!) then decided to head to the beach as it was threatening storms and hail today. Figured would be the only chance I'd have to get the dogs exercised.

Couldn't be bothered dealing with the DSLR, so all the rest of the photos are from my phone. I parked at Keast park where I normally park, and tried the entry I haven't gone down before. MUCH easier access than the horse entry. Still had to stagger over a little soft sand (VERY slowly) but wasn't too bad at all. Will probably be my normal entrance from now on even when my foot is better.

The light was WICKED!!!! And the air VERY clear; that is Melbourne city you can see far off in the distance there. I only have this month and November to beach-walk here with the dogs then no more til March next year. Not legally anyway.

WICKED WICKED WICKED light! Was also extremely windy, but not cold. First walk in a long time where I was just in a raglan and puffa vest.

Vaguely unsettled sea

The girls didn't mind and nor did I

Wickedly windy on the beach but Maggie the Red embraces and loves the briny breeze!

Time to start slowly heading back. Ran into a guy and his wife walking their geriatric Goldie and small dunno-what-YOU-are dog. The Goldie was beautiful, and named Bill. The small thing was relatively alright and played with Lucy. She's surprisingly good with small dogs considering she doesn't get to interact with them much.

A very thoughtful Hari

That's more like it :)
Got home to discover Craig has twanged his Achilles tendon so has cut his run short. We had breakfast and a roam around the mall (safe place for Maggie to slowly walk). He went to JB Hi-Fi while I went down to the bookshop. While I was there mother dearest called and tried to tell me I was being a bitch and how much I owed them. Ended that convo quite quickly. To make up for it, I found Neil Olivers "The History of the Vikings" which matched my History of England and History of Scotland books I got while I was over there! Absolute WIN!!!! Cannot begin to tell you guys how happy it made me :) I now have to go visit Denmark, Sweden, and Norway just so I can say I have been to all the places for those 3 books :D I also want to see Iceland and Finland one day, just because.
Craig took some BEAUTIFUL photos on his run and a really sweet clip, I'll grab them off him and put them up hopefully tomorrow.
