maggies_lensWent to Cranny yesterday with Gina, was good fun. We looked at some of the new houses being put up there and some of the newish ones being offered for sale as the families grow etc.You know, Cranbourne (5CN from now on!!!) is really picking up. The houses are not very large but they are nice. Neat compact little things with openplan living and nice little gardens. The streets are wide and very well maintained, lots of little parks here there and everywhere. And the best thing is a lot of the smaller places are quite affordable. I'm in the process of applying for a loan. We'll see how I go.
Driving back from 5CN, we had an ADVENTURE of the terrorfying type. I was pottering along on the rd where the cop shop is (aka 5CN 900!!), doing about 60kph, maybe a little less. See this bus in the centre mediun waiting waiting to turn onto my side of the rd in order to get to the side street directly opposite. We bore down on it and something just... didn't feel right... to me. I took my foot off the power so we were coasting when the dickhead driver just PULLED OUT in front of me! I SLAMMED on my brakes, praying ABS wouldn't fail and we SKIDDDDDDDD up to it, I could see we were not going to be able to stop in time so I SWEEEEEERVEDDDD madly into the left lane. I knew there was no one there because ever since I started riding the bike I have been hyper aware of traffic around me. We missed the bus by about 3cm's if that. Bus driver slammed on his brakes and looked scared to death. I briefly considered stopping and killing him, but thought what is the point?
It would have made me even more upset, would have upset the driver even more, and would have achieved nothing at all. So I very calmly got back in my lane and drove on, my left ear ringing from Gina's scream. Drove back with only the odd tremble. Very calm, I was, very calm.
Today was spent just chilling out, researching various home loan options and watching 'Laputa: Castle in the Sky' while having lunch. In all a nice day. So why have a ruined it by agreeing to go give blood with Craig? What the HELL got into me???? I don't mind the giving blood part, it's the prick at the blood-testing stage that I despise!!!! Damit, all scared now! Will see how I feel when I get there if I go through with it, I can always chicken out if I feel like I'm gonna die or something.
Be brave, Maggie, be very brave. You ride a bike; you may well need someone's blood one day, go build some good kharma..... *gulp*
