You guys need to all watch this, seriously, you NEED to. In the midst of all this tragedy around me, the dispair, the horror, the loss of life, this has brought tears to my eyes like nothing else. HAPPY tears. This is David Tree from the Mirboo North CFA, and his friend Sam the koala. This shows everything we are about.

This photo is now famous, beemed all over the world. You can buy it at www.heraldsun.com.au and all the proceeds go to helping the animals effected by this terrible week.  It's only $20 Australian. That about $10 US.

Sam was taken off the fire-ground along with numeour other animal survivors and is now in the hands of a wildlife carer. Now THOSE guys are heroes!!!!! They and all the other vols from various assoc.'s deserve just as much kudos as we FF's.

Poor little koala-bear (who isn't a bear). So glad she is going to be alright.

Sam's a girl, so of course she does her hair like every good woman should before a big publicity shoot ;-) She's beautiful, I'm so glad she will be alright.

*cries*

i know... so sad, but so uplifting. isn't it so typical tho, to grab hold of something, no matter how small, & find hope? i bawled my eyes out at the two couples last night on the news who 'found' each other. god, the footage of the lady running across the lawn to her man just broke my goddamn heart into a million pieces.

I should post up the one where the lady find her dogs at a vet centre after thinking they were dead. He heart-wrenching sobs almost undid me. It's good to see the happy stories. So much has been lost and there is just so much horror.. to see some joy is... it;'s needed. Oh and I just spoke to Madz; her horses are safe and off the mountain!!!! *dances happy!!!*
