From the physio:
IF I strap my knee up, ride with long leathers sort of Western style, keep to very short rides that consist of walking and only extremely brief periods of trotting (like no more than 5-6 strides for now) or of walking only, I may hop back into the saddle when I feel ready, but pref not for another couple of weeks unless I simply can't bear it any longer.
WHICH I CAN'T!!!!
I MUST use a mounting block until further notice, the taller the better. Will be going and buying it either Friday or Saturday.
I absolutly MUST wear the knee brace at least for the first few times until I feel ready to try without it.
Under no circumstances am I allowed to ride alone, or on young flighty horses, between anything that I can knock my knee on (i.e no squeezing through gate ways) and no doing anything nuts that could result in a fall.
So, Melissa, Tanya and Shar, feel like going out for some very VERY gentle rides?

Maybe Sunday? We'd need to find a 3rd horse but possibly Melissa may be able to get access to Bernie and we could pop you up on Dan/Mocha if you feel comnfortable coming out with us for a VERY quiet ride. Walk only.

Clinic stuff is here:
Hey are you interested in doing some clinics here http://www.danimaequine.com.au/clinics.htm
with me? Normally the morning is groundwork and the afternoon is riding, it's classical dressage/natural horsemanship kind of deal AND we can actually get there by riding. :D :D

was asking if you have ever heard of the dietry suppliment Spirulina. Mum got me a jar of it, did some research, it's freaking AWESOME! It's veggie, dunno about vegan, but wow! Mum has been on it for a few months and says she feels freaking fantastic so Al and I are giving it a go :)

Clinics sounds awesome!!!! Will be a little bt before I'm ready for that sort of riding and that much walking around etc, but when I am, you are ON!

Yay! Be safe my friend! :) When you're getting on, try to have your toe pointed forward from the start... when I first got back on, I put my foot in the stirrup from the mounting block, but not straight forward, and rotating it as I got on popped the ligament... which hurt like a mofo for a minute but thankfully didn't damage it anymore, I don't think! I don't often have a mounting block around though, so I got quite good at mounting from the right side so I didn't have to use my left leg, hehe!

Oh I will be treating it like it's made of paper mache, trust me! I think I will prob hot on Desi for the 1st ride as she is more likley to stand still and stay standing still while I hop on and get myself organised in the saddle. Regardless, I'll be asking Melissa and Tanya/Shar to hold on to her head for me, and someone to hold the leather on the other side so I don't hurt her back or accidently use the reins to take any weight. I seriously don't want to hurt my pony, prob more worried about that than anything else. I can walk around now without any brace at all for short periods of time if I'm on level ground. Still prefer to have the knee brave for stairs or uneven paddock ground etc.
I'll have to teachmyself how to mount from the right, I never really mastered that! But yeah. mounting block all the way as much as possible.
